Strawberry Limeade is one of my favorite things ever. Which I recently discovered. Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. One of my wedding cake layers was a strawberry filling. Speaking of which, anyone have a good recipe for wedding cake? Back to what I was saying, Strawberry cake, Chocolate covered strawberries, anything strawberry will make me happy. Here recently, I’ve really been into lime flavors. I meant to make a key lime pie over the summer and never did. Terrible I know.
Labor Day weekend, I wanted to mix up a drink to sip on all weekend. Soda hasn’t been part of my routine for awhile. I really want a fruit flavored drink so I scoured Pinterest for something delicious. I came across this recipe from Live Well Bake Often.
I adapted the recipe a little. I cut back on the sugar some and used less lime juice, only because I was using up limes that I had on hand. Avoiding the Labor Day rush at the grocery store was my top priority.
The hardest part of this recipe was juicing the limes. I haven’t purchased a citrus juicer yet so its all by hand. I juiced the limes, and measured out the strawberries, threw everything into my Ninja blender and was done in less than 30 seconds.
2 Cups Strawberries, you can use fresh or frozen
1/2 C Lime juice, freshly squeezed
1/3 Cup Sugar
5 C Water
Add everything to a blender and pulse! Note: I had some seeds still in mine from the strawberries, you may want to strain it. It makes around 1 quart.
